When I meditate o the word "Guidance," I keep seeing "-dance" at the end of the word. I remember that doing God's will is a lot like dancing. When two people try to lead, nothing feels right. The movement doesn't flow with the music. Everything is quite jerky and uncomfortable. When one realizes this and lets the other lead, both bodies begin to flow with the rhythm. One gives gentle cues, a slight pressure to the back or a lean in one direction or another. It's as if the two become one body, moving purposefully and in harmony with each other. The dance takes surrender, willingness and attentiveness from one person and gentle guidance and skill from the partner.
My eyes draw me back to the word "Guidance." When I see "G," I think of God, followed by "u" and "i". God, u and I dance. That's what "Guidance" means to me. If I dare to lower my pride, I become willing to trust that I will receive "guidance" through my life. It's a simple matter of letting God take the lead. Let the "dance" begin!
