Twelve Hours

We have heard this Gospel many, many times. It seems to be taken for granted that the Disciples went out together two by two with nothing but the clothes on their back to reach out to people who needed to hear about Jesus.

Today, I thought that it would be a good experience for us to be those disciples and think of ways we could reach out to others for a mere twelve hours once a year to see if we could imagine what we could do, what we would like to do and if we wanted to do anything for people in order to speak out and do what we could do for others.

Today is a dialogue homily where I am going to propose a question and I am going to give all of you a time to think of a response that you would do.

Once a year each individual person at Jesus Our Shepherd will be asked to spend one twelve hour day reaching out to individuals or groups to help people become closer to God. You will have healing powers to help those in need but the people have to ask for help and healing. You do not know when God will call you but the other members of JOS will assist you when it is time.

Please think a few minutes and share with the rest of us what you might plan to do.
